Mechanism of action of Betamethasone :Betamethasone Is A Glucocorticoid Receptor Agonist. This Leads To Changes In Genetic Expression Once This Complex Binds To The GRE. The Antiinflammatory Actions Of Corticosteroids Are Thought To Involve Lipocortins, Phospholipase A2 Inhibitory Proteins Which, Through Inhibits Arachidonic Acid, Control The Biosynthesis Of Prostaglandins And Leukotrienes.
Drug Interaction of Betamethasone :Betamethasone Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Amphotericin B, Carbamazepine, Lofexidine, Metyrosine, Oxandrolone, Perindopril, Phenytoin (Na), Rifampicin. Always Consult Your Physician For The Change Of Dose Regimen Or An Alternative Drug Of Choice That May Strictly Be Required.

Generic ( Gentamicin )

Typical use Of Gentamicin :Severe Infections Caused By Susceptible Gm Negative Organisms Eg - Billary Tract Infections, Brucellosis, Cat Scratch Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Endocarditis, Endometritis, Gastroenteritis, Granuloma Inguinale, Listeriosis, Meningitis, Otitis Externa, Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, Peritonitis, Plaque, Pneumonia, Septicaemia, Skin Infections, UTI.
Mechanism of action of Gentamicin :Aminoglycosides Like Gentamicin "irreversibly" Bind To Specific 30S-subunit Proteins And 16S RRNA. Specifically Gentamicin Binds To Four Nucleotides Of 16S RRNA And A Single Amino Acid Of Protein S12. This Interferes With Decoding Site In The Vicinity Of Nucleotide 1400 In 16S RRNA Of 30S Subunit. This Region Interacts With The Wobble Base In The Anticodon Of TRNA. This Leads To Interference With The Initiation Complex, Misreading Of MRNA So Incorrect Amino Acids Are Inserted Into The Polypeptide Leading To Nonfunctional Or Toxic Peptides And The Breakup Of Polysomes Into Nonfunctional Monosomes.
Drug Interaction of Gentamicin :Gentamicin Is Known To Interact With Other Drugs Like Atracurium (Besylate), Capreomycin, Cefaclor (Monohydrate), Cefotaxime, Cisplatin, Clindamycin, Cyclosporin A, Cytarabine (HCl), Ethacrynic Acid, Ethacrynic Acid, Floxacillin (Na), Foscarnet (Na), Frusemide Or Furosemide, Hydrocortisone, Indomethacin.
Side effects of Gentamicin :Encephalopathy, Convulsions, Hallucinations, Nephrotoxicity, Neuromuscular Blockage, Nephrotoxicity, Ototoxicity, Dizziness, Vertigo, Fever, Ototoxicity, Skin Rashes, Exfoliative Dermatitis, Eosinophilia, Purpura, Angioedema, Pyuria, Proteinuria, Azotemia.
